katsugeki Touken Ranbu

This installment of the Touken Ranbu series was delightful to watch. With action packed moments and beautiful sceneries, this anime will pull you into a world where history is always under attack.

Left: Horikawa Kunihiro Right: Izuminokami Kanesada
Unlike the other installments in this series, Katsugeki Touken Ranbu really shows you the fight between the Time Retrograde army and the warrior swords which were brought back to life in order to protect the past and, by so doing, the future.

However, this series particularly follows the story to two of these warriors; Izuminokami Kanesada (Kane-san) and Horikawa Kunihiro who are brothers since they served the same master; the vice commander of the shinsengumi, Hijikata Toshizou.

Izuminokami Kanesada is sent on a mission with Horikawa Kunihiro in order to stop the time retrograde army from changing history. Nevertheless, the battle becomes too intense and so three other warriors are sent to help them. Soon Izuminokami becomes the leader of the second unit of sword warriors.

As their leader, Izuminokami knows that a lot is expected of him and he tries to live up to his team's expectations by figuring out what the enemy is thinking and trying to beat them at their own game.

However, during a difficult battle they are unexpectedly called back to the citadel (their home), since one of his team members was gravely injured during battle. There he ponders his mistakes. He wonders if he was a good leader and whether he did all that he could to protect history.

As more and more people from history were being sacrificed to the plots of the time retrograde army, Izuminokami also starts to wonder what it truly means to protect history.

To make matters worse, Izuminokami and Kunihiro meet their master from the past; Hijikata Toshizou leaving both with feelings of guilt and regret.Would Izuminokami and Horikawa be able to save the day or will they join the time retrograde army and try to change their master's terrible past in order to save his future?

This is a thirteen episode anime was very exciting and fun to watch. Everything from the graphics, to the storyline and soundtrack was very entertaining and while I wish that more of the swords could have been a part of the story, the ones that were in it really made it a good anime to watch.

This story spins a tale of growth, teamwork and overcoming the past.
Brotherhood and family wasn't a major theme in this installment though, it was more action based but it certainly was not disappointing!
Definitely watch it soon!

Gakuen Babysitters

This slice of life, shojo anime was soo cutsy I just had to binge watch all 12 episodes in one day!

Of course, overlooking all the tears, it was a very heartwarming anime that made me both happy and sad at the same time. It was actually quite enjoyable though.

Kashima Ryuuichi and his little brother Kotaro were adopted by the chairman of a school after the death of their parents in a plane crash. Nervously but determined, Ryuuichi goes to introduce himself to their new caretaker. How bad could she be, afterall she was kind enough to take them in, right?

However, Ryuuichi soon found that their new caretaker was strict and she orders Ryuuichi from the get-go to earn his keep by joining the babysitter club where he would work with the children during his breaks and after school.

Ryuuichi Kashima, was a very doting big brother and thus agreed and soon he joined Ushihito Usaida in the school's babysitters club.

They both end up in quite wacky and fun situations caring for the children of the staff members; Kamitami Taka, Kumatsuka Kirin, Mamizuka Takuma, Mamizuka Kazuma, Sawatori Midori and Kashima Kotaro; Ryuuichi's younger brother.

From Left to Right: Midori, Kirin, Kotaro, Takuma, Kazuma and Taka

Living apart from their parents was difficult for both brothers but soon they were surrounded by loving friends and Ryuuichi eventually learns that his caretaker was as kind and caring as she was strict.

This anime shows many cute adventures of the children and their caretakers but I'll warn you, there was a lot of crying but just as much reasons to smile.

I really love to see guys interacting with children so that's probably one reason why this anime was so cute to me.

Of course there were a lot of funny, happy and downright adorable moments. It also highlighted sibling relationships which was very nice for a change.

It's a nice anime for any day you're up for an adorable slice of life anime that's funny and heartwarming!

Definitely give it a try!
