Amaama to Inazuma (Sweetness and Lightning)

All you really need for a really great anime is food, fun, family, and friends, lucky for us, Amaama to Inazuma has all that and more!
Sweet, cute and super sassy, Sweetness and Lightning is a great watch!

It follows the life of Kohei Inuzuka, a single parent father, and his five-year-old daughter; Tsumugi as they make delicious food with his student and friend Kotori Iida.

It all starts when Inuzuka sensei and his daughter Tsumugi, sees a girl crying at the sakura viewing. Thus they met the shy and determined Kotori Iida, who was brought to tears from the delicious food her mother had prepared.

She invites them to her mother's restaurant and Inuzuka eventually accepts the invitation; wanting to give his daughter more than just bento.

There; in a little corner, hidden behind some buildings, sat a simple restaurant with a welcoming glow, however, on entering, the father and daughter were surprised to find that Kotori Iida was alone since her mother had to go to work. Unwilling to stay there without permission from Kotori's mom, Inuzuka sensei plans to leave, however, Tsumugi's excitement to try a different kind of food convinces him to stay.

Thus, Kohei Inuzuma, under the guidance of Kotori Iida and her mom, began learning how to cook for the sake of his daughter's happiness.

It was very adorable and you will enjoy it especially if you like anime with doting parents, mischievous children, or those with a cooking theme.

It was a really heart-warming and kind series that also showed some of the struggles of childhood and parenthood.

Its 12 episodes were full of love and warmth and even the side characters were a pleasant addition to this anime. There weren't many characters to follow, but that made it all the more enjoyable and down-to-earth.

It's a great family oriented anime to binge watch, but maybe not on an empty stomach!
Try it if you're in the mood for a family-themed, cute, cooking anime.

Fukigen na Mononokean Tsuzuki

After watching season 1 of Fukigen na Mononokean a couple years ago, I couldn't resist watching season 2, and I have to say, I was not disappointed!

The Morose Mononokean is a beautifully designed anime about an exorcist; Haruitsuki Abeno and his employee Hanae Ashiya.

It is full of fun, adventurous moments and is laidback and funny enough to capture anyone's attention. This anime is a story about the job of the master of the mononokean; Abeno, as he and his employee, Ashiya, exorcise yokai by sending them back to their world.

It may sound like it would be in the horror genre, but that couldn't be further from the truth, the art is very beautifully drawn and the characters were choreographed very well to make this anime funny and entertaining to watch.

This story began in season 1 when Ashiya came into contact with his first yokai quite unknowingly. His kindness drew the yokai to him and it was soon revealed that Ashiya could see yokai which was uncommon for a human.

As a highschool student, Ashiya finds himself unwell, as the yokai's presence drains his energy. He finds out that someone in his school could help him and thus he seeks our Abeno. However, Ashiya finds out that exorcisms are expensive so after incurring a debt he couldn't pay, Abeno allows Ashiya to work out his debt by becoming his assistant.

The episodes are very funny, due to Ashiya's energetic reactions and Abeno's more sullen personality!
It is a great anime filled with enough mystery to keep you going and wanting more.

The second season was a great watch and it followed the same pattern as the first season with a couple of surprises. I guess I'll leave the rest for you to find out on your own.

This 13 episode anime (each season) is sure to give you a smile so definitely place it at the top of your list of anime to watch. If you're looking for an anime to give you a smile, along with some chills, this is the anime for you! Join them on one of their otherworldly adventures today!
