I just happened upon it while I was looking for recommendations for anime like Katsugi Touken Ranbu. It is actually a Chinese anime, this is the second Chinese anime I've watched, the first being Quanzhi Gaoshou. I liked this one more than I liked Quanzhi Gaoshou though.
He has a good relationship with most people though and is even considered a big flirt, but his exuberant personality makes him more enemies than one along his journey.
While Wei Wuxian was a brilliant student he often got into trouble due to his rebellious ways, however, his revolutionary ideas were even more of a concern to his teacher and friends. He wanted to use cultivation in order to harness the resentful energy of the dead in order to defeat their foes, in other words, necromancy.

Later in the story, the most powerful clan; the Wen clan, hosts an archery competition open to all the clans, however, they meet a deafening defeat. Now, in an attempt to show their true power and exorcise any rebels, they begin oppressing the other clans in various ways.

The storyline of this anime was really great and if you're looking for an anime with strong lead male characters and no romance, this is the one for you!

This action-packed 15 episode anime will keep you hooked from beginning to end. Of course, it has its funny moments as well so it's not too difficult to watch.
It was clean but it is based on a Danmei Manhua (equivalent to a shonen-ai manga).
Keep in mind also that there is the use of strong language and it may be classified in the horror genre.

Can the rebellious Wei Wuxian save the master of Jiang and overcome the forces of the Wen Clan, or will he end up being overcome by his heretic desires? Find out for yourself, watch Mo Dao Zu Shi, (Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation), and get captured in a beautifully designed, chaotic world.
